Default Adam Ant - Scala The Matthew Ashman Tribute

Adam Ant - The Matthew Ashman Tribute at The Scala

21st November 2010

This had great reviews at the time, which was good as he was rather hit and miss during his live 2010 shows!

It's on mediafire (zipped) and its mp3 320kbps.

Track list:

01 - Intro
02 - Day I met God
03 - Christian D'or
04 - Catholic Day
05 - Never Trust A Man (with egg on his face)
06 - Cartrouble
07 - Zerox
08 - Lady
09 - Fall In
10 - Deutscher Girls
11 - Whip In My Valise
12 - Cleopatra
13 - Physical (you're so)

again it's my first go at putting up a zip file so hopefully it works!

Great, thank you.

I was at this gig, as well as the other two (slightly shambolic) gigs Adam did at the Scala around that time.

No problems, I have heard a few from that period and it's like night and day to his shows now! It's good to see him enjoying his music again. Hope his new album does well for him.

Yeah, so do I!

The mid-week chart position for the new album was, well, surprising, in the sense it was much higher than surely anyone was expecting (it was at number 8 for an afternoon!).

I think it unlikely it'll stay anywhere near that high come Sunday, but it'll be top 30 at the least. Which is amazing considering the album is a bit of a mess and it come from nowhere. The generally positive reviews it has had in many high profile papers/online has probably prompted the 40+ YO fan base (that's me and lots of my friends) to just take a chance on it I guess.

Now I've heard the rough versions of it all from 2011 I'm still not really sure it was quite finished enough to be released in this form (but then I talk as someone that makes records for a living) but if he's got away with it, then all power to him!

Yeah like you I have the demo bootleg and I had hoped for some tracks to be left off or at least worked on.

Got the official version on Wednesday and I must admit it grows on you, some stuff like Shrink, Bullshit & Cradle your hatred are great, most of the rest are ok, but Valentines & Darlin boy should have been put away for no one to ever hear!

Think it will make top 20, would be fantastic if hit top 10 even for a week

Oh, I totally agree. Those two tracks are particularly grating every time I play the whole thing through.

I was at this one. Packed. Stupidly small venue and like a hell-hole! Great performance though...
