US alt-rock band Ween actively support bootlegging. I've got a few recordings from their shows which I've taken direct from the soundboard.

There's an official Ween torrent site for downloading bootlegs, live and demos:

paul weller ,at least in the days of the jam and tsc ,because he endorsed a mail order company that sold live recordings of the jam and later tsc concerts ,i have the official documents/booklet that came with the tapes when i purchased an entire collection of every know live jam recording from the guy that used to run the business ....somewhere!!! ...This is from the early eighties till around 89. as a weller fan ,i have seen him sign the odd bootleg lp ,so probably not that insecure/controlling ,as a live performer of 45 years it goes with the territory .

Given the amount of recordings i reckon Robert Smith is pretty cool with this sort of stuff on the basis that nobody profits.

I have struggled in the past to not find a recording for any show!!!
